the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

ah - poor kristin, the crashing of the dartmouth server (on they day they post admissions results) is giving her angina.

Just gave a tour to Nathan's "california college" tour group. Nice seeming kids, showed them around campus durning a freak snow squal and made a quick twenty bones.

It's amazing what you are capable of when you get up early, I went to bed around 4, but feeling **refreshed** after just four hours of sleep, this tour group, and then a chat to my parents on the phone while we all tried to plug in Krick's "secret pin" to the dartmouth page. Off to Kalb now for another lesson in contemporary art, definition and directionless as ever, as least we are spared another painful student presentation today. And then he's going for another job interview, cancelling class on Tuesday. Moran is also out of town (yes, break was last week) so he's cancelled class today and next Tuesday... I don't mind this schedule. I feel like a part-time student sure, but I can't seem to concentrate anyway, I need the extra time. Need to check my mail for the cell phone charger I left in the car over break, then Kalby Kalb.

also, shakira unplugged is weird. I don't know how I feel about it yet, very mariache...
