the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

Habitual Tiredness and Learning to Make Do Without "Six"

I am very tired today and the effects of longterm sleep deprivation (coherence, simple motor skills, looking "bright eyed") are rapidly dissappearing.

Also, there is something the matter with my keyboard. For some reason the"six" key no longer works, nor does "five" nor "dash" or others. This puppy needs a makeover while still on warranty, but not until the thesis is done. the "six" is a particularly imporant key for someone writing a thesis about art works that were all made in 192, which is what happens when you type nineteen sixty two. yeah, so I just make a habit of doing more writing in the comp lab.

the radio show was bad... I was too tired and went on at length about a fantasy courtroom of superheroes (we decided thor would be the judge because his club is gavel like) and the plausibility of aquaman riding a giant seahorse into the courtroom so he could testify, this rant began as a reaction to Samsung suing Sony Pictures (the folks behind Spiderman the movie) for airbrushing out a Samsung billboard from scenes shot in Times Square. I know some of my professors regularly listen to the show, I am not expecting any compliments on the content of this week's show. Michelle is sick and Jack is depressed, so all in all, crappy program this week.
