the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

I am calling it a night... will leave the footnotes and the images for tomorrow - to be squeezed in after the 10am debate budget meeting (it's going to be a blood bath, I can already tell) at least the adminstration continues to smile on us.. .and before a 1pm judicial council hearing. I guess the nice thing is that it's finals week - I have a few pesky things to take care of - but since I don't have to go to class, it doesn't seem like much of a task at all. then I want to sit around, or run around, get very drunk, stay up until the birds are chirping (like they are now) and play board games, dreamcast, and watch movies... oh yes, and there will be gin, lots of gin. that's what I am talking about.

I hope you all remembered to call your moms to wish her a happy momma's day.
