maybe people do change.
On a complete aside - here are the 6 buildings I selected for my architecture seminar. The assignment is to use 6 buildings to create a new canon, or the 6 you might use if you were authoring a text book. Granted, they are a little off the beaten path because I wanted to be original. They must be since 1950 and I've opted to take the high international style for granted, so no Seagrams, even though it's probably one of my favorite buildings ever. I am going to make this blog interactive so you non-archiecture types can get a sense of what the last 50 years are all about, in my humble opinion. Well, I'll make it interactive later, you can go to great buildings on line yourself.
Philip Johnson, AT&T Building, 1979
Norman Foster, Shanghai / Hong Kong Bank, 1979-85
Daniel Libeskind, Jewish Museum, Berlin, 1998-2002
Ralph Erskine, Biker / New Castle, UK, 1969-81
Robert Venturi, Mother's House, 1960-62
Bernard Tschumi, Parc at La Villette, Paris, 1984-89
ps. I got a postcard from Venice today, did you?
