the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

wisdom.

Have you ever had one drink - just enough to get you loosened up without being impaired and you suddenly decide that you are wise and should share it with the world - well, if not, I strongly reccommend it.

Today: Slept until 3pm. Cleaned my room. Wrote some belated thank you cards. Went to Fire and Ice with the Judicial Board. Wrote most of my china paper. Went to see Monsters Inc. Went to the bar. Learned to play gin (the game, not that tasty refreshing beverage). Imparted wisdom to jack.

I have no idea where I read this, probably cosmo at the hairdresser, but I was reminded of it as one of the most insightful comments to understand women. It might piss off the feminists, but deep down inside, they'll appreciate it. The wise magazine article said that men should always tell a smart girl that she's pretty and a pretty girl that she's smart. I think that this one piece of advice will get a man further with a woman than any other one-liner. I also told Jack that the power of flowers should never be overlooked - roses are too trite and suggestive, but a few fushia or red colored zinnas are strikingly unusual and very pretty... but I'd also say, keeping with the telling a woman something she's not expecting, giving a not so-bright girl a book and a very intelligent gal a bracelet or perfume or something... I think it would be very well-recieved.

Today I rediscovered how much I like Van Morrison & his new album "Down the Road" helped me realize that. Yesterday / Today (the 16th) marks the 3 month until I am 22 point. I am sure that's a milestone in some country. 21 & 8/12.
