the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

god bless the Chinese peeee-ple and their clever ability to make glamorous, chic, and knock-off designer handbags and fashion accessories affordable for the common man. Viva, "prado" !!

Spent the day in Chinatown with the passing through New York City, Justin Bussen. I showed him my new office and we walked around the crowded streets on a beautiful day. It was nice to see someone that doesn't think of me as "cousin lily." But it was all in all a very nice day - a long docket for tomorrow, typical wekeend errands and the all-star softball team and I think Auntie B and I need to play for the team opposite the all-stars. Marley's pitching has given me cause to warm up my throwing arm, but batting, I don't think I have done that since high school gym class. Softball is fun though, I want to work for a company with a softball league, it'll be fun. Then this whole week starts again... but now work is busy, so it'll feel different than the leisurely pace of last week.
