Getting a late start
My commute, unquestionably, is much shorter from the lower east side than from westchester - so explain to me why I can't get up on time or to the office before 10:30am. As quick as that, I've lapsed from a morning-person facade of commuter time back into my lazy college, sleeping late self. But such is life. Since my day was not off to the earliest and most productive start and I'm having people over for dinner after work, I decided that today was not the best day for a trek out to the performing arts center all the way on the Westside. I think this will be better for the second part of the week - although my time here is beginning to dwindle and I must be careful to stay on the ball. I also need to get up to the Gugg and take a few pictures to prove I actually did my job this summer and a mug might be nice too.
Sadly, I feel like I've moved into the office. I have a copy paper box overflowing with my junk - like books and such. Things I intended to read or things I'd hope I need while housesitting - sadly, I haven't been nearly as productive as I could have been - instead I got back from Brooklyn and drank seltzer and watched the Golden Girls and Designing Women, funny how I never tire of those shows, and despite the fact that I've watched them both since age 11, I rarely tire of the re-runs. But this place is a mess: more piles and papers than I know what to do with and no solutions in sight. Perhaps I'll make progress before my boss returns and claims his space back.
Duty calls... I want to work through a few projects this afternoon and justify time in the library at the end of the week.
