the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

full belly & Boston fun = one happy gal

Just back from Boston, a day early from last week's plan. The exhaustion is mounting and if nothing else has been proven by the number of typos I've already made and corrected... nevermind those I'll unconsciously ignore - I should just call it a night and go to bed. Boston and harvard was just fantastic. Debating was okay (negatively influenced by the tiredness factor) but everything else was really good. Fun in the Cambridge marriott playing quarters, gorging on pizza, and drinking red mountain dew and red mountain dew. Then the obligatory trip to the Boston confectioner, rides on the T, scratching my urban itch, and watching SNL and what is really TV for the first time this fall. Stopped at the MIT Press book store and continued to drool over the rigid gridded geometries all over Kendall Square.

Watson interview tomorrow - fingers crossed so hard and a good night's sleep is imperative. might as well unpack the garmet bag and settle back into this place.
