the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

A Watson anyone??

I think I nailed my Watson interview. No real curveballs aside from not speaking Chinese and not having taken any computer science classes... what are you going to do, these ghostly liabilities are going to follow and hound me much more sharply then they did today. Having a vote of confidence from Jon I today helped and when I looked at the competition, I was glad to see that at least two of them can't interview themselves out of a corner. Not that I overtly want others to fail, but articulate-ness and all those hours chaulked up to debating ought to count for something.
