the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

abate, aberrant, admonish, aggregate.... zealot, and other useless turns on the GRE high frequency word list

My weekend of cramming about to come to a close, and I'd be acting rather prevaricatious if I didn't admit that I was heavy with lassitude from all this soporific vocabularly studying. Jack's apartment in a converted mill building exceeded my every expectation for sophisticated adult living and we had fun doing little things like cooking thai food and homework.

Let's just hope tomorrow goes well - even though I am a neophyte to the GRE, too late to cancel and about time I just fessed up and took this insipid, capricious test required of good, erudite, would be grad students like myself. Luck and fortune don't fail me now.
