the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

Fuzzy Math

Did you ever make a radical miscalculation? Well, I seem to have made some gross over and under-estimations this week. Underestimated my motivation and ability to get out of bed in the morning, overestimated the done-ness of my graduate school applications (U Wisc is going out tomorrow morning, dammit).

Presidency continues to sit like a rock in the pit of my stomach and its comprehensiveness is really oblique. Review session at 7 and so much reading left, reading that gets backburnered to application, applications that never seem to get done... I had originally planned to spend this weekend playing in the snow at Katie's condo, but that seems like an increasingly bad choice and maybe even infeasible. We'll see where I am at after this exam, but once I get through this one Presidency exams I'll be forced to realize that I have three other classes and three other grad schools needing my attention before Xmas.
