the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

I just ate such a great sandwich from Noonie's. Mailed my wisc app and found an issue I'd like to debate - give the Elgin Marbles back to Greece. Just as provenance laws state that museums have to return all paintings that were seized by the Nazis, the West should have to return all of the treasurers of antiquity it plundered from namely, Greece and Egypt. This is especially incouragable because in almost all countries but America, the State operates / funds / subsidizes museum operations. Therefore it's no so much the Rockefellers (ie. the Met...) giving Greece the big "fuck you" it's the Queen of England, politely, yet immorally, refusing to give back the fenced goods. The Queen is such a bitch, really.
