the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

Left on the to-do list: (status as of 11pm)
1. Finish up my scathing, digital activist -cum-would-be-curator, U Chicago Essay (Done, sealed the envelope)
2. Create a compelling statement for Brown using the Chicago Template (Done and Done)
3. Go and turn in the completed Bible Paper (Done)
4. Finish reading Edge City, handwrite my 2 blue book take home exam (not so much)
5. Pack. Bring home laundry, key DVDs, my kind of coffee, and all items that can go home for good (books, underused "bored" games, summer clothes..) (I made an impressive but teetering pile, does dirty laundry in a trash bag count as packing??)
6. Find PS 500 notebook. Very important. Write 20 pages about the liberal arts tradition before 12/21. (I found it! Cognition later)
7. Write and send Christmas cards. (eh, it was last on the list for a reason)

I am not planning to leave my room until all of this is done - or tomorrow comes.
