the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

Last night was pleasantly surprising. All dressed up and no place to go, Dan and MO-brien came to Forest for what amounted to two bottles of scotch and gin. 6/10ths of the Midd Debate Society got its groove on McCullough style, topless platform dancing ensued, collective debaucherie until 4am... typical jterm misbehavings and coroporal abuses. Had an interesting academic discourse about the importance of off-camera space in early German cinema while Dan gazed unblinklingly at a poster of Marilyn Monroe.

Whoever covered the shower in chocolate syrup is a jerk. Hall meeting tonight to discuss the noise, pot, smoking, vending machine olympics, and general unacceptable antics that happen on this hall, none of which have a thing to do with me aside from being an afflicted bystander. Eh, too little, too late. Soon I'll have my own shower and won't have to deal with midnight raves and drug customers. The nicest / biggest room I've had at Middlebury, but quite a price to pay.

Interesting - professionally regarding the future of museum collections and online databases.

Thank you, Governor Ryan of Illinois, may others follow your brave lead.
