the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

Back in the saddle again...

Great little day. I had a very promising meeting at the Wadsworth, so now it's a matter of a job opening up. But I think I'll be the first one they call if they need help. Times like this I think I made a mistake in not applying to / attending Bates. I've met so many students I like there and this is just another of the alumni that has been in my field and very down-to-earth and helpful. Good people, that Bates. This is all very good, I feel like I've been proactive, and hopefully something (that I am actually excited to do, unlike subbing) will pan out soon. I also gave Real Art Ways one more shot and dropped off a CV there. They never follow up with me, so this is my last effort.

Ooooh... this little girl just got herself a Valentine's Day date. As it turns out, my nemesis (Justin's roommate) is going to be out of town, so I can spend the weekend with Justin in Albany. Fun, fun. I need to get out more often, I've been such a louse lately. This will be just what the doctor ordered and definitely a good time. Romantic, not so much... but a good time guarenteed. I see wine, outlet malls, and movies and my future.
