Look with your eyes, not with your hands.
Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future. A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music. Lisa's homemade Pad Thai = Success Joe Millionaire comes clean and picks a gold digger tonight - tune in or miss out. Oooh, while I wait for Evan (i.e. Joe) to make his choice (I bet he'll pick the blonde and she'll have none of it because she's a golddigging whore) whereas if he picked substitute teacher Zora, she'd probably be willing to make a life with poverty-stricken him... PAUSE... those bastards at Fox are dragging this series out for another week! 2 hours next Monday with a surprise promised at the end. Eh, I was looking forward to it ending tonight... I was really dissappointed with tonight's show, barely any new footage. It's really not that good and the piece of meat in unquestion is a very rough around the corners oaf, it's hard to be attached, now, like always, I am just watching and routing against the blonde (and her not so thinly veiled money-grubbing intentions) vixen. I finally found my grad school folder, so I am in fact, not going nuts (it was in the bottom of a bag I checked twice). I feel more whole. Latest movies to add to the Couchside Series 2003; Marilyn Monroe in a racy little number called The Seven Year Itch, an old Gwyneth Paltrow movie all dressed up in an endless palette of green shades, only very loosely confused with anything by Dickens, Great Expectations, and one of my favorite movies from a few years back, the Brazillian tour de force that is Central Station. I'm enjoying this - while I have the time, I really should get to the theater, The Pianist is next on my list, perhaps as soon as Wednesday. I always feel so film starved when I'm holed up at school, this is a welcome, complimentary, release. Might have to put my art visit on hold tomorrow - Mom's new bedroom is scheduled to arrive between 2:30 and 6:30, making my 2pm appointment tight, a little too tight. |
