Slice of life, hold the raisins.
In my brief history as a car owner, today was exciting - two very swanky words best heard with a backup jive 70s beat: CAR WASH. Still overdue on the oil change, but I figure until the light goes on, it's all good. Regardless, I promise to get it changed after I go to Boston this weekend. Going to celebrate Katie's 23rd tomorrow, complete with the yellow cake I baked on her request. This week is thick with birthdays, so while I can actually only be in one place at a time (sadly, it's been proven) I have to foresake similar fetes in Brooklyn and Middlebury. I actually know someone born February 28, 29*, March 1, 2... not that this is a decree of popularity, these are in fact, the only four people I know. Just the same, happy birthday to all. In order to save me time and milegage we really should have gotten our act together sooner and had a joint party for four and about 86 combined years, well, my leap year friend only can add 6 or so, so reduce accordingly.
I need to retrieve the schulbs, I mean my parents, in about an hour. 9:40 flight. Intuitively, they picked the right time to come home as my dog gave up the well-behaved routine tonight, so let them deal with it. As a stroke of good fortune, it also turns out that Ginnie breezed into town tonight and we're planning to have a drink to catch up. She's been up for 35-crazy hours, so it's probably best if I drive. Still, I am excited to see her. Jack called and we hashed out the highs and lows of this week on reality TV, a very nice way to spend an hour. So the day has been progressively better.
Good weekend to all, catch you on Sunday.
