the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

Caffeine is a bitch

Didn't have my coffee until after a losing trip to the casino around 4:30pm. At that point, give into the headaches and accept that the day is lost. I actually won $20 in a slot machine, but since my family kicked $150 their way, I don't consider it much of a victory, maybe a moral victory. Since then fishsticks and Sunday night television. Getting psyched for my upcoming trip and answering a lot of questions that have been swimming around my cloudy mind. Start my job tomorrow... that's about it, had a little wine to kick the headache - sadly, Arbor Mist was open and cold. It's not helping my headache, it's just bringing on a hot flash. Going to catch the end of Clockwork Orange on IFC and drag my sorry rump to dreamland.
