the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

Thank God I got out when I did....

The only thing more unbelievable than SRod for SGApresident, is that he's based his campaign around a health-food dining hall. Word is from my man on the ground in Midd that Sam is actually the favored candidate. What is the world coming to? I just find it hard to believe that this many people are rallying behind one of the most incompitent / impulsive "leaders" I've ever met. Maybe he's changed, but in my experience, he only changes for the worst. Give this man power, whoa, Middlebury, you are so in for it. All I can say, future senators working under the "Rodrigo Administration" stop checking your email or you'll be in for a daily 5,000 word email that is belligerent and ranting and stream of consciously spewing out one terrible idea after another with the gusto of a yo-yo dieter in a all you can eat pizza buffet... well, that email will be followed up by dramatic retractions and apologies for getting a little out of control. I am so happy to I got out when I did, I can see no good coming from this. The one potential good is that this distraction will pave the way for President Dan to lead MCSDU (or whatever we're called now) to a very successful year - both interpersonally and victoriously. But whoa, I'll be watching for these election returns.
