the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

July Urgency

Maybe all of these months without having projects has finally broke through my laziness crust and inspired me to accomplish some of the many things I've had on my to-do list since I graduated - including closing one checking account, having my laptop fixed (still using my sister's machine), and calling my rental company to find out what I need to do in order to get a key for my new place. Also on several to-do lists for several months has been to get the ball rolling on the upcoming class reunion many of us would like to have. I made a lot of progress on that front today and figure that this project is just the busy work I've been searching for ever since I became (professionally) idle and docile. If we went to high school together, email me and I'll bring you up to speed.
