the female gaze

Look with your eyes, not with your hands.

Such a minute fraction of this life do we live: so much is sleep, tooth-brushing, waiting for mail, for metamorphosis, for those sudden moments of incandescence: unexpected, but once one knows them, one can live life in the light of their past and the hope of their future.

A grad student muses on her life, film, friends, politics, reality televizzle, and music.

I know, I'm taking a break, I know...

My nights are still wrought with sleeplessness and my days are heavy with the weight of lingering inadequacy... but I've come to some decisions, namely, that I will be staying in my current apartment. I don't want the hassle of moving to be a concern in August and I realized that I have a pretty good thing going where I am - it is quiet, I am comfortable, I generally like the set-up (I'd just want another room), it is very warm, affordable, and NO MICE. I think moving would just open up the possibility of so many things going wrong.
