Sad News
To my Midd readership - check out the homepage (www.middlebury.edu) and read the details of the death of Jason Fleischman. He was a Feb a year below me (literally graduated on Saturday) and died unexpectedly on Sunday morning of bacterial meningitis. I didn't know him well, but definitely recognize the name, face, and even remember him from orientation years, and years ago. I've been bummed ever since I read it.
I am finally sitting down to do this back-breaker of a book report for my French Cinema class tomorrow. It's actually a very interesting read, but I admit that I feel very caught up in the details and don't know quite how to summarize and pitch the big picture to the class tomorrow. I have some clips picked out - but at this point, I am trying to prioritize the info and make 10-15 mins work well... Going first for presentations, sucks. With a stroke of perfect timing, Dean will actually be in Madison tomorrow night having a MeetUp around the corner from my apartment (that's a fortunate time to sign on to a campaign). Also, this little project might assuage my goal to meet
five new people this semester. Honestly, I've exchanged more phone calls with the committee chair than anyone else in the past two days. So Lisa the liberal gets politically charged again.
I've started having more success working at home - usually I have to hide from my house o'distractions and camp out in the library to get my work done. It's nice to work from home (largely because you can work in your pajamas) but it also leads to closer access to beverage and bathroom than any library or office. The only problem is that I am dish dirtying machine. Last night, I had 10 dirty cups in the sink, a combination of glasses and mugs. It's just 8:30 now and I've already used three...
